IXYS Corporation announced that it had decided to acquire westcode Semiconductors Limited in full cash equivalent to its shares. IXYS is one of the leading suppliers of power semiconductors for power conversion and motion control applications, which is a UK based power semiconductor company. The success of IXYS's acquisition will depend on its successful completion of the preliminary work, its board's approval of the transaction and the implementation of the final agreement on the acquisition. Westcode has agreed to enter into exclusive negotiations with IXYS and the parties hope to complete the acquisition in January 2002.
